We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Internal Communications Manager to lead communications in ABB’s Finance & Accounting Operations (FAO) organization. This role is responsible for building and executing a strategic internal communications plan to a global team of 2,000+ employees to foster improved employee engagement that deliver on business goals and priority programs.
In this role, you will create and execute communication strategies for the ABB FAO leader Global head of F&A operations and ABB Electrification Chief Financial Officer to help keep employees informed, aligned, and engaged. The role will also help define the organization’s mission to unite employees and educate critical internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in global internal communications in a highly-matrixed environment, excellent writing skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and Implement Strategic Communication Strategies: Develop and execute comprehensive internal communication plans that support the business objectives and key executive stakeholders.
Content Creation: Produce high-quality omni-channel content for the right audience, via the right channel and delivered at the right time that is aligned to business strategy and needs.
Employee Engagement: Design and implement communications to help build pride in the organization and foster improved employee engagement.
Change Management: Support organizational change initiatives by developing and executing communication plans that facilitate smooth transitions and minimize disruption.
Collaboration: Work closely with ABB and ABB Electrification internal communicators as well as cross-functional counterparts to ensure alignment with broader initiatives, benefit from company scale and in support of FAO business objectives.
Measurement and Reporting: Track and analyze the effectiveness of communication efforts, and recommendation and implement improvement actions. Proactively share best practices.
Leading the team of internal communication managers/ specialists working for the organization. Support them in their skill and career development.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in internal communications, within a global, matrixed organization
Team management experience and strong leadership and influencing skills
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills including ability to develop compelling messages that change perceptions
Communications measurement and ability to drive improvement in key metrics
Experience working with and coaching senior executives on their communications plans and helping them to execute
Knowledge and application of the advanced communication practices and a drive to innovate Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships at all levels of the organization.

Change management communications and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Empathetic: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to understand and address employee concerns.
