Position Summary

The Communications Specialist supports Child Crisis Arizona’s mission by leading program and center-level marketing efforts while managing essential day-to-day communications tasks. This role ensures our programs remain visible, accessible, and engaging while also supporting broader communications and fundraising strategies.

You’ll work closely with program teams, collaborate across departments, and serve as a key partner within a dynamic Communications team.


What You’ll Do

Program & Center Marketing 

  • Create and update marketing materials for programs such as Early Education, Parenting Classes, and Center-based services 
  • Keep program information current across digital and print platforms 
  • Update Center class schedules, lobby displays, and external signage 
  • Design flyers, enrollment materials, and one-pagers that are both informative and visually compelling 
  • Make website updates and continuously look for ways to improve user experience and content 

Digital & Social Engagement

  • Assist with social media content creation, scheduling, and storytelling 
  • Engage with our online community by responding to comments and messages, answering questions, and acknowledging donor gifts with gratitude and warmth 
  • Support website updates and ongoing content maintenance 

Operational Communications Support

  • Order promotional items and manage inventory 
  • Maintain asset libraries, templates, and communications calendars 
  • Help keep projects organized and moving forward efficiently 

Collaboration & Project Support

  • Partner with the Communications Manager and Director to support campaigns and priorities 
  • Assist with event logistics and communications (with occasional evenings/weekends during major events) 
  • Support internal communications and special projects within the Development team 
  • Collaborate with program staff to gather accurate, timely information 
  • Occasionally answer calls and engage with clients at the front desk during lunchtime hours

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience) 
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience or strong internship background 
  • Proficiency in Canva and social media platforms 
  • Experience creating content including video and photography 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to manage deadlines and juggle multiple priorities

Pay Range: $40,000–$45,000 (dependent on experience)
