This individual will be responsible for accurate commission calculations, reporting, and driving the timely payment of commissions. Must have attention to detail and organizational skills. A successful commission analyst requires understanding of SaaS bookings and revenue. This position will collaborate with the Finance Revenue Team and Sales to ensure data integrity, compliance with company policy, and adherence to GAAP. In addition, this position must be able to communicate clearly with Sales Team to help them understand their commission structure and how earnings are calculated.
Key responsibilities:
· Commission Calculation: Analyze sales data from CRM systems to calculate commissions based on established commission plans, including metrics like sales volume, quota attainment, and product mix.
· Data Validation: Verify accuracy of sales data, identifying and resolving discrepancies between sales reports and commission calculations.
· Commission Reporting: Generate detailed commission reports for sales representatives, sales managers, and finance teams, highlighting key performance indicators and potential issues.
· Sales Team Support: Address commission-related inquiries from sales representatives, providing clear explanations of calculations and addressing any concerns.
· Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline commission calculations, improve data quality, and enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred, CA or MBA (Finance) is plus.
Experience: 3-5 years in handling Commission calculations for SaaS companies. Experience with accounting software preferably NetSuite.
Strong analytical skills and critical thinking skills: Ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, draw accurate conclusions. Identify and resolve data discrepancies and commission calculation issues
Attention to detail: High level of accuracy when handling large volumes of data and complex calculations.
Proficiency in Excel: Advanced Excel skills to handle data, create formulas, and generate reports.
Communication Skills: Effective communication to explain commission calculations and address inquiries from sales teams and management.
Self-motivation and management: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Work Environment: Office-based or hybrid work options available. Flexible office hours and need to work 2-3 hours late evening.
