JOB SUMMARY
Lead strategy development, administration, and continuous improvement of commercial systems and tools for the Inquiry-to-Order and Order-to-Remittance processes for the Power Transformer Division. Lead the development and implementation of commercial operations system projects, including CRM, CPQ, Integration with ERP, pricing tools, slot management tools. Serve as the primary commercial-side product owner, partnering with IT and cross-functional stakeholders to improve process efficiency, data quality, and customer experience.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as commercial product owner for Inquiry-to-Order and Order-to-Remittance tools, defining roadmap, priorities, and success metrics aligned to Commercial Operations goals.
- Lead end-to-end delivery of commercial system initiatives (CRM, CPQ, ERP, pricing, quoting, order management, and slot management), including requirements, business cases, timelines, and stakeholder alignment.
- Translate commercial process needs into clear user stories, functional requirements, and acceptance criteria; validate solutions meet real-world quoting and order fulfillment and order management workflows.
- Partner with IT and internal support teams to design, configure, test, and deploy enhancements; coordinate release planning and change management.
- Drive process simplification and automation across Inquiry-to-Order and Order-to-Remittance (lead/opportunity, quote, order, pricing, and order management) to reduce cycle time and rework.
- Establish and maintain master data and rules that enable accurate pricing, product configuration, customer terms, and order validation.
- Develop training content and deliver enablement for commercial users; provide support and triage for recurring issues to root cause.
- Define reporting requirements and dashboards (e.g., bid feedback, quote conversion, quote cycle time, on-time quote metrics, order accuracy,) and improve data quality and adoption.
- Facilitate cross-functional working sessions (Sales, Commercial Operations, Finance, Planning, Legal, and IT) to resolve process gaps and drive decisions.
- Manage vendors/partners as applicable (SOWs, deliverables, testing, release readiness) and track project risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Champion user adoption through communication plans, feedback loops, and continuous improvement sprints.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- 5+ years of experience in Commercial Operations or a related business function (not an IT- only role).
- Demonstrated experience with business-side system enhancements or projects involving CRM, ERP, pricing, CPQ, or order management tools.
- Strong understanding of lead-to-cash processes, including quoting, product configuration, pricing, ordering, order management, and cross-functional handoffs.
- Proven ability to elicit requirements, document processes, and drive stakeholder alignment across Sales, Commercial Operations, Finance, Planning, Legal, and IT
- Experience with user acceptance testing (UAT), defect triage, release readiness, and post-deployment hyper care.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to translate between commercial users and technical teams.
- Analytical skills to define KPIs, interpret data, and prioritize work based on business impact.
- Must be willing and able to travel both domestically and internationally up to 15% of the time.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required Education / Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, marketing, finance, Data Analytics or related field
- Experience in manufacturing or B2B environments with complex products, configurations, and pricing structures.
- Hands-on experience administering or serving as product owner for platforms such as Salesforce, SAP, or similar CRM/ERP ecosystems.
- Experience with CPQ and pricing tools (e.g. Salesforce CPQ).
- Knowledge of data governance/master data management and integrations.
- Lean/Six Sigma or continuous improvement experience.
