Summary:

This role will be seeking new business opportunities and maintaining relationships with existing clients. This role may be segregated specifically into a New Business or Retention Business focus.

This role strictly adheres to our Corporate Standards of Excellence and procedural guidelines spelled out in our Professional Procedure Manual.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Generate leads and pursue new client opportunities. Prospect for business based on your local networks, connections, and communities; send referrals to other departments.
  2. Develop strong Centers of Influence, network to develop new business opportunities; responsible for meeting or exceeding new business goals set annually.
  3. Complete and/review the large client survey to gather all pertinent information and work with your assigned account management team to review current policies.
  4. Develop and maintain active expiration lists through internal and external sources.
  5. Achieve trusted advisor status with clients, provide professional risk management advice to prospects and clients.
  6. Maintain and foster strong business-to-business relationships.
  7. Maximize growth and retention by providing exceptional customer service to clients.
  8. 8. Make arrangements with clients to ensure premium payment on a timely basis and be responsible for management of collections for assigned accounts.
  9. Conduct renewal strategy meetings at renewal to address coverage gaps, limit adequacy, and provide industry and insurance trends.
  10. Obtain information for quotes and, if applicable, work with the marketing team to obtain quotes from the insurance marketplace. 
  11. Provide input on renewal premium negotiations with account management team.
  12. Work with assigned account management team to prepare proposals and present to prospects and clients.
  13. Work with assigned account management team to set renewal timeline and complete pre-underwriting, information gathering, submissions, coverage analysis, and proposal presentations if needed.
  14. Conducts proposal meeting with client.
  15. Utilize company systems as applicable; Sagitta, ImageRight, Helix.
  16. Develop accounts and cross-sell available products and services.
  17. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Skills and Abilities:

  1. Fluency in MS Office products.
  2. Effective, professional verbal and technical written communication skills.
  3. Superior sales and networking skills; must be an effective networker.
  4. Proven track record of success in high activity sales model with clear examples of results.
  5. Must be a good listener and have a strong work ethic.
  6. Proven analytical skills.
  7. Must be detail-oriented, with the ability to plan, manage, and oversee a book of business.
  8. A self-starter with an entrepreneurial approach and hands-on experience.
  9. Must be willing to work outside of core hours as needed.
  10. Ability to multitask and operate in an ever-changing environment is critical.
  11. Ability to communicate clearly, to work well with others, and to manage time effectively.

Education and Experience:

  1. Proven record of servicing a book of business with at minimum $500K in revenue.
  2. Producer license is Mandatory.
  3. CIC, CPCU, AAI, or AIS designations preferred.
  4. Bachelor’s degree in a relative field preferred, or equivalent in work experience.
  5. Sales experience, preferably in Insurance; commercial property and casualty or related business-to-business sales experience.
  6. Willingness to continue education is essential.

Skills Required
