Provide more advanced administrative and relationship support to the Commercial Banking team through the loan closing and relationship management process, which includes completing loan preparation, review, documentation and funding, and providing deposit support to the team on more complex transactions. The team may include a Segment Leader, Team Leaders, Relationship Managers (RMs), Portfolio Managers (PMs), Commercial Relationship Specialist Leads/Manager and other Commercial Banking team members. Assist the RMs and PMs with monitoring and managing the ongoing life of a loan portfolio including the handling of client's financial reporting. Review reporting to ensure proper entries are made in the bank systems (CoreBank, Ambit, Stucky, SalesPro, etc.) and work with other team members to resolve any potential issues. May have specialized knowledge and system access depending on the line of business supported. Ensure adherence to standards and regulatory requirements. Work directly with business customers, outside counsel, and business partners to address needs, solve problems, and provide superior customer service. Complete projects as assigned. This senior specialist position may back up the Commercial Relationship Specialist Lead, provide supervision, and project management as need. Upon request, assist with or coordinate the training of team.

LOAN CLOSINGS - Serve in an active role on the deal team, which includes coordinating all aspects of required loan documentation including but not limited to ordering all due diligence documentation, reviewing loan documents for accuracy in partnership with the deal team, closing the loan with the client, and working with Commercial Loan Services and outside counsel to ensure proper documentation. Perform ongoing maintenance to a portfolio of clients, while adhering to legal documentation and compliance guidelines which could include complex participation loan transactions.

PORTFOLIO / COLLATERAL ADMINISTRATION - Provide support through life of loan by leveraging online bank systems to process daily transactions based upon customer requests and review of customer financial information. Analyze collateral and financial reports received on a daily/weekly/monthly basis with supporting documentation provided by the borrower. Work with the clients to validate any discrepancies, collect past due financial and legal documentation, and ensure accurate reporting is being presented to the bank for collateral and financial monitoring. This would include monitoring and updating internal systems reporting and tracking data that is crucial to managing the portfolio. Input and direction from team and Leads may be needed to ensure quality customer service is maintained and all daily/monthly transactions for Commercial Banking customers can be properly documented within bank systems.

CUSTOMER SUPPORT - Service clients and affiliates by solving problems and addressing complex questions to ensure superior customer service and support which may entail reaching out to business partners for handling of various service requests. Function as liaison between operations/support departments, Commercial Banking teams, and customers. May work with clients on fraud, overdrafts, and wire issues. Work to establish contacts within the operations and support departments. Act as central resource area for Commercial Banking issues including referring clients to business partners. Provides back-up support to other team members, as needed.

LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT - Work with Relationship Managers and Portfolio Managers to ensure the portfolio administration and risk management of each client relationship complies with established Associated Banc-Corp credit policy, procedure and business strategy as well as commercial and regulatory guidelines. Maintain current awareness and understanding of appropriate internal policies and procedures, and to fully comply with the same. Attend training sessions to hone skills, improve efficiency and develop best practices. Provide support on various projects as needed by Commercial Banking team to allow for efficiencies and technical improvements which will allow Associated Bank to compete with competitors in the market.
