The Commercial Production Technician assists with writing, blocking, shooting, lighting, scheduling, and editing of all commercial and promotional productions, including public service announcements for the station and clients. This is a union position.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Work closely with the Creative Services Director, Sales management, and staff on the execution of results-driven advertising campaigns and script ideas.
  • Under the direction of management, work closely with the sales department, clients, and talent while on shoots.
  • Direct clients on shoots as necessary.
  • Coordinate promotional and advertising campaigns for the station and clients for publication.
  • Assist Sales with creative concepts for clients.
  • Work in coordination with the Creative Services Director to execute the final product, including commercial and promotional script concepts.
  • Provide support for writing, blocking, shooting, lighting, scheduling, and editing of commercial content.
  • Utilize the Graphics Hub or design graphics and special effects to be used in commercial spots, station promotions, and news.
  • Work with network and syndicated affiliates to support programming on-air and online.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
  • High School diploma or GED; Vocational or technical training preferred
  • 1 to 3 years of related experience
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work professionally with internal teams and external clients.
  • Working knowledge of graphics, special effects, commercial production, station promotions, and online/on-air programming support.

COMPENSATION RANGE:Hourly: $21.50 - $22.00


 

Pursuant to state and local salary transparency laws, the salary range posted is specific to candidates who will perform this work in California.
