About the Role
The Commercial Partnerships Manager is responsible for engaging with agencies and intermediaries and Scientific-Technical-Medical Journal to support and close specific opportunities that maximize commercial sales and exceed annual sales targets.  The role will also be responsible for supporting all sales and editorial compliance processes, whilst consulting with Scientific-Technical-Medical Journal publishers, compliance and our commercial agents and intermediary partners.  

Responsibilities

  • Achieving targets through partner management activity and supporting incoming sales through the inbound account managers. (Inbound from individual enquiries, agencies and intermediaries.)
  • Enabling agency go-to-market innovation with pharma/corporate customers. Proactively driving engagement with customers, maximizing revenue and closing business.
  • Liaising with societies sales and publishing to ensure commercial opportunities are shared, executed, maximized and managed as proactively as possible.
  • Generating ideas to drive new opportunities. Including efficient customer liaison management. Driving said management and closing down of opportunities.
  • Demonstrating sound knowledge of trends in media buying and promotional activities and regulations.
  • Developing and rolling out appropriate sales and marketing resources for internal and external use. 
  • Supporting ongoing resource planning and flexibility to adapt to business needs with agencies and intermediaries.
  • Supporting and defining liaison with internal production departments and external vendors to commercial deadlines.
  • Supporting and defining activity and performance reporting and alignment, both with agencies and intermediaries and with internal partner management team. Including supporting and reporting on billing completion.
  • Supporting products to include Display Ads, Local Editions, Sponsored Supplements, Sponsored Special Issues, Roundtables, Webinars, Clinical Solutions offerings. Additionally, including patient education pieces and custom chapter/section/full book reprints, Clinics offerings, and Lancet Clinics.  
  • Ensuring products have pricing, compliance and operational guidelines and controls; documentation, oversight and implementation of sales and ad operations workflows; oversight and monitoring of sale types, delivery and billing completion; issue resolution.

Requirements

  • Have experience in business development, with a proven track record of successful growth initiatives. Coupled with experience in managing agents and distributors and managing a global customers and internal stakeholder base.
  • Display proficiency in working with publishing communities and societies.
  • Display deep understanding of commercial advertising and sponsorship best practices.
  • Have commercial problem-solving skills, with the ability to approach challenges from a fresh perspective.
  • Have exceptional drive to engage and simplify our external relationships for our internal publishing audience
  • Display capability to train and guide junior staff, and exceptional interpersonal skills to build consensus and relationships.
  • Able to drive innovation, exercise judgement and analyze multiple sources of information.
  • Have excellent communication skills to convey the value of partnerships and initiatives to external stakeholders.
  • High level of competence in monitoring and reporting on agency and distributor activity.

Salary Range

The salary range provided in this posting is the base salary range for NYC:$105,200.00 - $175,400.00
