PIB Group is one of the UK's fastest-growing insurance businesses, and we're building the commercial infrastructure to match our ambition. As we scale our multi-provider model spanning third-party managed services and strategic partnerships, we need a senior commercial leader who can hold suppliers to account, protect PIB's interests, and drive real value from our supplier relationships.
This is a Director-level role reporting directly to the COO. You'll own the end-to-end commercial relationship across our third-party supplier portfolio, lead the Vendor Management Office (VMO), and be the single point of escalation for all supplier performance matters across the Group. It's a high-visibility, high-impact position for someone who thrives at the intersection of commercial rigour, regulatory accountability, and strategic influence.
What you'll be doing:
Commercial & contract leadership
- Own all commercial contracts across PIB's third-party supplier portfolio
- Lead contract negotiations and renewals, ensuring PIB never auto-renews on unfavourable terms
- Drive continuous value and efficiency improvements across supplier contracts
Supplier relationship management
- Act as PIB's primary relationship owner with all third-party suppliers at account director and board level
- Chair quarterly business reviews and manage escalation for all P1/P2 incidents
- Build credible, commercially robust relationships — suppliers should view PIB as a demanding and serious client
Governance & regulatory compliance
- Ensure all third-party supplier arrangements remain compliant with FCA SYSC 13.9 and Lloyd's Delegated Authority requirements
- Maintain SMCR accountability mapping and coordinate annual supplier audits
- Present quarterly performance summaries to Core Exec and Apax
What we're looking for:
- Several years in vendor management or commercial contract management in a regulated financial services environment
- Proven track record negotiating complex third-party supplier contracts at scale
- Working knowledge of FCA SYSC 13.9, SMCR and IDTA obligations
- Confident engaging at C-suite and board level, internally and with supplier account directors
- Commercial sharpness to challenge pricing assumptions and hold suppliers to their contractual commitments

What We Do
Since our formation in 2015, PIB Group has been on a mission to create a leading position in the provision of specialist insurance solutions across the UK market and beyond. It’s been an exciting journey as we’ve remained focused and committed to delivering everything that we set out to achieve. We’ve been growing rapidly through acquisition, and by employing outstanding individuals with a wealth of knowledge and experience across the insurance market. By bringing together companies and individuals recognised as leaders across a range of specialist markets, PIB can draw on their vast expertise and insights which in turn enables customers to enjoy the highest levels of service. That journey has led to PIB Group today being a highly diversified insurance distribution consolidator focusing on specialist commercial lines and non-standard personal lines products with deep expertise across both direct and B2B distribution through its broking, underwriting and network divisions. In 2021, PIB Group secured further investment from Apax partners (the ‘Apax Funds’) and re-investment from PIB’s existing investor since 2015 The Carlyle Group. The investments enable PIB to continue our ambitious growth plans.
