Position Summary:  The Commercial Lines Trainee will acclimate to the insurance industry initially through the Best Account Management (BAM) training course. The course is designed to help early career professionals gain knowledge in 3 phases:

  • BAM I - General Introduction to Insurance industry;
  • BAM II - Coverages and technical tools used at our organization in client service, and;
  • BAM III - How to execute tasks in client service or account management (i.e. Endorsements, Policy Changes, issuing certificates, marketing, etc), direct shadowing of working professional.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Essential Tasks:

  • Participants will complete all 3 phases of the BAM training program
  • Participants will obtain licensure as required
  • At the completion of the program, participants will be placed within the Business Insurance line of business based on their performance

Experience and Education:

  • Commercial insurance experience preferred, but not required

Licensing and Credentials:

  • Active Property & Casualty license preferred, but not required (company will help individual obtain licensure if they are not licensed prior to onboarding)

Systems:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Applied Epic experience preferred, but knowledge of similar Account Management System (AMS) is acceptable

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 25 pounds
  • Repeated use of sight to read documents and computer screens
  • Repeated use of hearing and speech to communicate on telephone and in person
  • Repetitive hand movements, such as keyboarding, writing, 10-key
  • Walking, bending, sitting, reaching and stretching in all directions
