Axos is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Commercial Lending Operations Manager to support our Non-Real Estate Lender and Fund Finance teams within our Commercial and Industrial (C&I) lending operations. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in optimizing loan origination and portfolio management activities, ensuring operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and excellent service delivery to our commercial clients. This position requires a blend of strategic thinking, analytical skills, and a strong understanding of the commercial lending process.Responsibilities:
- Oversee the loan origination process for C&I lending, ensuring timely and accurate processing of applications
- Collaborate with loan officers, underwriters, and credit analysts to streamline workflows and enhance communication throughout the lending cycle
- Implement and refine operational procedures to improve efficiency and reduce turnaround times for loan approvals
- Monitor and manage the collection of documentation supporting the C&I Loan Portfolio Management team, including delinquencies, defaults, and risk assessments
- Develop and maintain reporting tools and dashboards to track portfolio performance metrics
- Conduct regular reviews of loan documentation to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory and internal compliance requirements related to commercial lending operations
- Collaborate with risk management teams to identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them
- Lead, train, and mentor a team of operations staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
- Serve as a point of contact for commercial clients, addressing inquiries and resolving operational issues
- Work closely with relationship managers to ensure an exceptional client experience throughout the loan lifecycle
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices in loan processing and portfolio management
- Lead cross-functional projects aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and effectiveness
- Take ownership of ad-hoc projects, responding to business needs with agility and delivering timely solutions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of experience in Commercial Lending Operations, with at least 2 years in a leadership position
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Proficiency in lending software systems (preferably, Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with data analysis tools is preferred
