About the Role

Commercial Finance Business Partner is responsible supporting the financial management and success of the ANZ Commercial and Consumer P&C businesses, ensuring compliance with the company’s policies and procedures, and providing strategic business partnership to the ANZ leadership team.  

In this role, you will:

  • Business Partnering: Day to day active business partnering across all product line leaders for Commercial & Consumer lines, including both business and finance leaders. Communicate financial information and analysis to the country leadership team, including presenting financial reports, analysis and recommendations for future performance KPI trending 
  • Financial Strategy: Work with the Australian and NZ leadership team to develop and implement business strategies that align with the company’s financial goals. Lead on business cases for new distribution deals and growth strategies, ensuring stakeholder management to deliver structured & timely sign-off an approval process as required 
  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Support annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, strategic planning, and routine KPI monitoring. Prepare insightful, timely, executive level FP&A deliverables to the business and finance leaders.  Identify emerging trends and material variances on KPIs and provide insightful analytics, recommending adjustments and corrective actions as needed
  • Financial Analytic Tools: Design, implement and deliver analytical tools that provide timely insights and trend analysis on business performance across all P&L categories and cohorts of business 
  • Financial Compliance: Strong business partnering with FP&A, Controllership and Actuarial teams to ensure compliance of the business operations with local and US GAAP policies, as well as Chubb policies and procedures
  • Embrace process improvement & automation: Drive digital transformation of day-to-day financial reporting processes and performance management framework in partnership with FP&A and Actuarial
  • BI enabled analytics: Work with FP&A to build BI reports to enable curiosity on financial performance based on DFO and business requirements.  Partner with business leaders to drive adoption of the self-service BI tools. 
  • Ad Hoc Analysis:  Complete adhoc requests as necessary in desired timeframe. This includes anticipating future requests based on current activities/events and presenting options/solutions.  Support other ad hoc Finance projects and initiatives identified by management
     

Qualifications

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or accounting (or equivalent experience)
  • 6+ years’ experience in finance related fields, within the insurance industry
  • Significant background in financial planning, financial analytics, forecasting, accounting, reporting, and controls
  • Strong knowledge of insurance products, underwriting process, and relevant industry trends
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in financial management software and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant tools
  • Strong financial management and analytic skills – ideally with experienced financial experience across Commercial and Consumer lines
  • Managing stakeholders across multiple products, segments, and branches at varying executive levels. Comfortable working in a matrix environment 
  • Experienced business partnering and influencing skills – ability to find a balance between business and financial stakeholders 
  • Strong communication skills - crisp executive level narrative and insightful commentary on all deliverables
  • Relentless curiosity across all financial and strategic initiatives

Skills Required
