Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Commercial Finance Analytics - Senior Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving our pricing SQL server, working closely with our global strategic pricing team. You will also be tasked with maintaining and improving current pricing tools, including transitioning data sources to Databricks. Your expertise in SQL and data analysis will be crucial in delivering data-informed reporting and analysis on sales performance, margins, and forecasting.
Core Responsibilities:
- SQL Server Maintenance: Maintain the pricing SQL server, ensuring its optimal performance and reliability.
- Pricing Tools Improvement: Maintain and improve current pricing tools, including transitioning data sources to Databricks.
- Data-Informed Reporting: Use SQL and other data analysis tools to collaborate with multiple teams and deliver data-informed reporting and analysis in sales performance, margins, and forecasting.
- Performance Reporting: Run data-driven performance reporting for the entire division in Europe and align figures with other finance departments.
- Data Management: Ensure the maintenance, operation, and improvement of data management in collaboration with the Global Strategic Pricing team.
- Database Development: Create and develop organized databases for use during typical pricing projects.
- Database Monitoring: Maintain and monitor existing databases to ensure data is being updated.
- Query and Procedure Development: Design, code, and test queries and stored procedures.
- Ad Hoc Analyses: Perform ad hoc analyses and prepare reports of findings as needed.
- Process Documentation: Document existing and new processes for supportability and maintainability.
- System Improvement: Work closely with Pricing Analysts to constantly improve our internal systems to expedite job completion.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Data Analysis Proficiency: Proficient in data analysis and interpretation.
- Commercial Awareness: Ability to utilise data to understand key business drivers using good commercial awareness.
- Accounting Knowledge: Knowledge and experience of accounting packages; proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- SQL Expertise: Advanced level proficiency in SQL (Microsoft SQL Server).
- Excel Proficiency: Advanced level proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Language Skills: Fluent written and spoken English.
- Commercial Knowledge: Good commercial knowledge and service skills.
- Power BI Experience: Experience with Microsoft Power BI would be advantageous.
- Data Model Building: Ability to build and maintain data models to support decision making.
- Communication Skills: Good ability to communicate data insights effectively to stakeholders
