Role overview   

As one of our Commercial Executives, you’ll be supporting the growing review and sophistication behind understanding our claims inflation and what opportunities are out there to offset that inflation. This role offers a great opportunity to set the tone for commercial trading insight and drive changes to improve our claims performance.



Job details – you’ll need to have demonstrable experience in:

  • Actively supporting our Commercial Manager to deliver our claims strategy, implementing agreed initiatives and owning key parts of these commercial initiatives where required
  • Supporting the identification and development of insight into inflationary elements of the books of claims, bringing to life the underlying elements and drivers of change through the analysis of data and market insights
  • Actively seeking input and engagement from various experts throughout claims (both internally and externally) to understand  internal and external influences
  • Supporting the creation of all necessary MI, working with various teams/departments and external suppliers and closely monitoring the performance of claims overall, identifying emerging trends and changes in claim behaviours
  • Developing own knowledge of market movements through internal review and external macro which may impact our commercial performance and working quickly with our Commercial Manager to mitigate any impact to our processes or performance
  • Working collaboratively with other project teams in respect of projects and initiatives which incorporate elements impacting our book of claims and providing support and input to ensure project success


Essential skills/experience:


  • Strong analytic skills – able to consume, manipulate and interpret Claims data to bring clarity and insight into commercial performance
  • Strong data visualisation skills, using appropriate tools (such as Excel or PowerBI) to bring data to life for differing stakeholders
  • Experience in customer claims management – with experience in underwriting insurance pricing practices and segmentation being highly advantageous
  • Strong commercial acumen – comfortable working with the mechanics of a P&L and drivers of performance – and able to support the delivery of change effectively within a matrix organisation
