About the Role – Senior Account Director
This is a senior role that blends strategy, leadership, and execution. You'll need deep experience in higher education marketing, a strong personal network, and the confidence to lead commercial conversations with university executives across enrollment, marketing, admissions, and fundraising.
As Senior Account Director, you will play a pivotal role in Net Natives' growth by:
- Leading
new business development
and securing high-value, strategic partnerships within the higher education sector. - Driving
growth across existing client accounts
, identifying upsell and expansion opportunities to deepen our impact. - Acting as a
strategic commercial leader
, balancing insight-led consultation with hands-on sales execution to deliver measurable revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities
New Business Development
- Identify, target and win new clients aligned with Net Natives’ goals.
- Leverage your network to connect with VP-level decision-makers across higher ed.
- Build tailored proposals and deliver compelling pitches.
- Own the full sales cycle—from lead generation to closing deals.
Strategic Account Growth
- Lead commercial strategy across existing client accounts.
- Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities across departments and service lines.
- Drive growth across advertising, creative, research, CRO and measurement services.
- Deliver business reviews that support long-term client development.
Relationship & Commercial Strategy
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders (VPs, Deans, CMOs).
- Collaborate with strategy and delivery teams to align on growth opportunities.
- Navigate procurement processes and negotiate contract renewals.
Industry Engagement
- Represent Net Natives at higher ed conferences and leadership forums.
- Contribute to webinars, panels, and thought leadership content.
- Maintain awareness of sector trends, competitor activity, and funding shifts.
About You – What We’re Looking For
You’re strategic, driven, and deeply connected to the higher education sector. You bring energy, initiative, and high standards to every interaction. You’re ready to lead, mentor and grow in a high-performing environment where results matter.
Essential Experience
- 7+ years in commercial or revenue-generating roles in higher education
- Either a proven track record of acquiring new clients and managing large accounts or in leading Marketing & Admissions or Fundraising teams in Higher Education
- Experience working with or selling to senior university leadership (VPs of Enrollment, CMOs, Deans).
- Deep understanding of enrollment funnels, higher ed marketing challenges and performance metrics.
- Strong presentation and communication skills with experience in formal pitches.
Preferred Skills
- Strong personal network in the U.S. higher ed space.
- Familiarity with Hubspot or other CRMs.
- Exposure to creative strategy, marketing automation or market research.
- Experience managing marketing ROI and institutional budgeting.

- Commercial Director / Business Development Director (agency-side or EdTech)
- Account Director / Group Account Director (in a higher education marketing agency)
- Director of Marketing / Enrollment Management (university-side)
- Strategic Partnerships Manager / Enterprise Sales Executive (EdTech, SaaS, or MarTech)
