Life Unlimited. At Smith+Nephew we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living.
At Smith+Nephew we are looking for: Commercial Data Process Owner, International
This role will be responsible for managing the end-to-end process from obtaining multi-channel, multi-format sales data from across Smith+Nephew’s International (DACH, SOEUR, FRABENE, UKINOR) markets, to producing a cleansed dataset within a secure system hosted online. This will require designing the data cleansing solution, as well as building and executing a process to parse and consolidate the data per local business requirements. The completed dataset will need to seamlessly connect to existing global Smith+Nephew systems, as well as be accessible to specific individuals, serving as the data source for all International sales and marketing reporting.
This role aims to increase the efficiency of the existing International Business Intelligence team, through providing an accurate, secure and comprehensive dataset for the entire UKINOR market, allowing the development and provision of reports and analysis relating to national and local sales and marketing performance.
What will you be doing?
- Design and implement a robust, future-proof data cleansing solution to consolidate accurate international sales data, tailored to local business requirements
- Own and manage the secure hosting of raw data files, automating processes wherever possible to ensure efficiency and reliability
- Build and maintain a scalable cleansing process that enables the generation of high-quality, consolidated datasets for reporting purposes
- Develop an online-hosted solution that seamlessly integrates with existing systems and provides controlled access through platforms like Microsoft Power BI and Salesforce CRM
- Collaborate with BI and Data Solution teams across Smith+Nephew to align with internal best practices and ensure compatibility with broader infrastructure
- Create a flexible data setup that supports agile updates in response to evolving business needs and strategic changes
- Continuously assess and improve data processes, staying current with industry trends and identifying opportunities to enhance data acquisition and management
What will you need to be successful?
- A data expert with 3+ years of experience in integrating, modelling, and cleansing datasets from multiple sources, with a strong command of ETL processes, data acquisition, and secure storage
- Proven hands-on experience in developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards, with working knowledge of SQL, Power Query, and tools like IBM Cognos
- Strong technical ability to automate data flows using methods such as API, email robots, EDI, and SFTP servers, alongside experience in designing scalable, secure data solutions
- A methodical, detail-oriented problem-solver with a deep understanding of data consolidation, enrichment, and manipulation techniques to deliver actionable insights
- Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills, able to build strong relationships across teams, departments, and locations
- Educated to degree level (ideally in Computing, Maths, Statistics or Business); postgraduate qualifications in a related field are a plus
- Willingness to travel occasionally across the UK, Nordics, and Poland; fluent English and local language skills are essential
