Redaptive seeks a Commercial Counsel to join its highly collaborative, solution-oriented legal team supporting the Company’s continued growth. The Commercial Counsel will report to the Deputy General Counsel. In this role, you will work with our commercial team on energy retrofit and technology transactions, predominately in the form of master services agreements, leases, loans, and project acquisitions. In addition, there will be ample opportunities to work on a diverse set of legal matters across company functions (e.g. sourcing) to position Redaptive for its next stage of significant growth.

Required Abilities and Skills

  • Excellent negotiation and drafting skills and experience negotiating and drafting commercial contracts 
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide actionable, clear, and concise legal advice to non-legal stakeholders 
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively 
  • Self-starter, can-do attitude combined with a strong sense of humility, collaborative working style, and ability to perform with little supervision 
  • Experience with debt and project financing is a plus 
  • Solar, storage, or other energy services agreements experience is a plus 
  • Experience with IP, real estate, finance, construction, and general corporate matters is a plus 
  • Combined law firm and in-house experience is a plus 
  • Working experience with underwriters is a plus 
  • Excellent ability to learn and to wear multiple hats 

Education and Experience

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • Bar licensure to practice law as in-house counsel in Colorado is required.
  • Admission to the New York, California, or Colorado bar is preferred.
  • 4+ years of relevant legal experience.

Travel

  • Up to 10% travel is required for this position.

  • Expected annual salary: $123,000 - $162,000 (subject to adjustment for relevant experience, skills, geo location)
  • Annual bonus of 20%, subject to company and individual performance
