Your Role: As a Commercial Reserving Actuarial Consultant, you will research and develop new methods for loss reserving, prepare and coordinate analyses of monthly and quarterly loss data while communicating results and analysis to senior management. May act as project leader for relatively complex projects and studies.

Your work: 

  • Develops and analyzes new methodologies for Commercial insurance loss reserving.

  • Evaluates analytical work done by others and makes decisions and recommendations that take into account internal and external environment.

  • Follow developing trends of market landscape.

  • Provides training to Actuarial Function

  • Works autonomously with little to no management oversight on actuarial work product

  • Independently communicates recommended actuarial work product to Sr. Management

  • Requires no oversight on actuarial work product and communicating.

  • Proactively tailors’ message to audience.

Required Experience, Education and Skills

  • BA/BS in statistics, mathematics, actuarial science or related area and 7 years of post-bachelor experience performing statistical and actuarial analysis on Commercial lines insurance (Commercial Auto preferred)

  • Or Graduate degree in statistics, mathematics, actuarial science or related area and 3 years' experience performing statistical and actuarial analysis on Commercial Insurance (Commercial Auto preferred)

  • ACAS (Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society) required

  • Expert-level problem solving and critical thinking skills

  • Proven oral and written communication skills, including the ability to give formal presentations

  • Proven team leadership ability

  • In depth actuarial industry knowledge and knowledge of the insurance marketplace

  • Actuarial analysis on Commercial Auto lines insurance preferred

The national average salary range for this position is $144,000 -$160,000. However, we have a location-based compensation structure. Our salary ranges vary and are calculated based on county of residence. The full salary range for this position across all the states we hire in is $129,000 - $192,000. This role also includes an opportunity for a company-wide annual discretionary bonus, through our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP), of up to 12% of eligible pay.
