KCL seeks a talented Commerce Deal Writer to join our team and contribute to our thriving content ecosystem.
This is a full-time remote position (5 days a week), Monday - Friday, with hours of 10 am EST to 6 pm EST.
As a Commerce Deal Writer, you will be responsible for finding, building and writing top-performing deal content.

In this role you will:
- Find the best sales from top performing stores and on top-performing products for our readers
- Build deal posts in our CMS from start to finish, including utilization of graphic design tools (Canva) and affiliate link-building
- Write short posts on each deal, explaining what is on sale and how to get it for less
- Continually analyze deal performance and self-adjust pitches and writing for consistent growth
- Connect, support, and learn from the team remotely via Slack and Zoom meetings.
About You:
- Education: BA or BS
- Previous Experience: 2+ years of writing experience in a high-volume environment, with a background in creating commerce content for an online publication
- Highly detail-oriented
- A technology whiz who can learn new programs and processes quickly
- Proven experience in writing, editing, and self-publishing clean, clear, concise content
- Fast and thorough
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Highly responsive to direction and open to feedback
- Analytical mindset with experience in data analysis
Physical Requirements
- Use of Fingers: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm as in handling.
- Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; those activities where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
- Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound.
- Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
- The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned
- None: The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (as in typical office or administrative work).
HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT: PLEASE WRITE ONE RETAIL POST:
- Head to a Retail store you like shopping at, or are familiar with, and write a post featuring a deal you found

- Before you leave for the stores, check out The Krazy Coupon Lady . Be aware of the deals we’ve already posted—we want to see something new from this assignment
- For the post, write a short “beginner friendly” intro, add a title, featured image, and calculate the final price
- Be sure to include what the deal or sale is, how the shopper can get it, and why it's a good deal.
- Notice how we write our titles
- Notice the picture format... They are wide, bright and easy to read
- Notice the formatting of the body of the post
- Notice the deal construction (deal formula)... This tells readers how they can save money (and is critical)
