In this role, you support and execute programs that are part of Mondelēz International's Impact strategy. You lead in the coordination of budget planning, vendor management and payment, and the central audit process, and oversee the origins pay-for-performance process.

Your primary role is to develop and carry out a comprehensive supervision, monitoring and evaluation package that effectively measures the progress and impact of the Cocoa Life Program and helps guide the country coordination unit to make key strategic decisions based upon the findings. Additional objectives include supporting the program operations to ensure the achievement of the program's goals.
Supervision, M&E (Monitoring and Evaluation), Learning and Verification (70%)
  • Oversee the supervision work of the program at the field level, primarily working with field-based implementing partners and staff;

  • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the M&E for Cocoa Life Latin America, working with the local Cocoa Life leadership and the Global M&E team.

  • Oversee the monitoring systems across the Cocoa Life program, including the development and deployment of common indicators, tools and processes.

  • Organize data collection and analyze data collected by implementing partners and M&E partners and share the information with the Coordination Unit, the Country Coordination Team and other members of Cocoa Life and the LA Business Unit;

  • Support Cocoa Life's M&E and verification partners in implementing annual surveys and transaction verification by coordinating needs with local partners and reviewing process material.

  • Facilitate the execution and analysis of assessments, quarterly performance reviews, impact surveys, audits, and assist the independent verifications of the program and other potential M&E layers that may be applicable.

  • Participate in the development of M&E capacity across the program and facilitate program learning and the sharing of lessons learned on M&E across pillars; this includes researching, documenting and reporting on case studies and success stories, as well as collaborating with local research partners on an as-needed basis;

  • Oversee the development and maintenance of an M&E database and dashboard for LA (excel / teams based);

  • Participate in regular M&E and operations meetings with partners, community beneficiaries and Cocoa Life team;

  • Oversee the quality of implementation of field-level activities in key program areas including technical assistance, forest protection, safety and security and human rights due diligence

  • Help make strategic decisions on program activities based upon M&E findings.

Additional Program Management (30%)
  • Provide additional program management support to the local Cocoa Life leadership as needed, especially in coordinating field level interventions with implementing partners and in organizing field visits with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Assist the local Cocoa Life leadership in implementing the governance requirements of the program

  • Assist the local Cocoa Life leadership in managing relations with implementing partners and local service providers.

  • Assist in the supervision of R&D initiatives supported by Cocoa Life in LA.

  • Assist in the supervision of Advanced Cocoa Farming initiatives supported by Cocoa Life in LA.

Education / Certifications:
  • Academic background in engineering, agronomy, environmental sciences, business administration or related fields.

Job specific requirements:
  • Consolidated professional experience in program monitoring and evaluation including but not limited to data collection and analysis, performance monitoring, impact surveys, auditing, data and knowledge management.

  • Expertise in areas including but not limited to ESG, agriculture development in general, environmental management and auditing.

  • Experience working in a development context, particularly rural communities in LA.

  • Demonstrated ability to write clear and concise technical reports, success stories and other communication documents.

  • Fluency in Portuguese and English.

Travel requirements: This position is based in Ilhéus-BA. Availability for field visits in rural cocoa producing areas is required.
Work schedule: Hybrid - The position is based in Ilhéus - BA and includes both remote work and field visits.
