Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Co-op Performance Tester to support performance and load testing activities across enterprise applications and systems. This role offers hands on experience with real world performance engineering practices, test automation, and analysis in a collaborative Agile environment.
The successful candidate will assist with designing, executing, and analyzing performance tests, while gaining exposure to industry standard tools, monitoring techniques, and reporting practices.
*This role is hybrid in Richmond, British Columbia
Key Responsibilities
*Assist in executing performance benchmark and load tests
*Develop and maintain performance test scripts using tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner, Python, Selenium C#, etc.)
*Execute test runs in non production environments and collect performance metrics
*Analyze test results to identify trends and anomalies
*Support test environment validation and test data preparation
*Monitor system behavior using logs, dashboards, and performance monitoring tools
*Document test scenarios, results, and observations in test reports
*Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, and system teams to reproduce and troubleshoot issues
*Participate in Agile ceremonies (stand ups, planning, retrospectives) as required
- High school education or equivalent experience. Required Qualifications
*Currently enrolled in a Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related program
*Basic understanding of software testing concepts
*Familiarity with performance testing fundamentals (through coursework or projects)
*Experience with at least one scripting or programming language (e.g. Python, PowerShell, C#)
*Basic knowledge of HTTP, REST APIs, and client server architecture
*Strong analytical and problem solving skills
*Good written and verbal communication skills
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred / Nice to Have Skills
*Exposure to performance testing tools (LoadRunner, Jmeter)
*Basic understanding of SQL and database queries
*Familiarity with Windows server environments
*Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
*Experience with monitoring tools (Dynatrace, Grafana)
*Interest in performance engineering, scalability, or system optimization
