POSITION SUMMARY

Machinist Level II applies and expands the skills gained in Machinist Level I by performing simple to intermediate machine setups and machining operations. This position continues to build technical expertise within the employee's primary machining area (Milling or Lathe) while supporting quality, productivity, and continuous skill development.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Perform basic and intermediate setups independently.
•    Adjust tool and work offsets, verify program alignment.
•    Interpret detailed drawings including GD&T.
•    Troubleshoot simple machining issues, including tool wear.
•    Perform in‑process inspection and document measurements.
•    Support continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Technical, vocational, or trade‑school training in machining preferred
  • CNC machining coursework or equivalent on‑the‑job training preferred
  • Demonstrated progression from Machinist I or equivalent experience
  •  Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and shop documentation
  •  2nd shift availability - 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for up to 8 hours per day. The employee frequently uses hands and arms to handle materials and equipment and may be required to walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but at times loud.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
