About the roleKey Responsibilities
Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machining centres to manufacture components in line with engineering drawings and specifications.
Carry out 5-axis machining operations safely and efficiently.
Perform in-process inspection of components to ensure quality and dimensional accuracy.
Complete associated inspection records, production documentation, and quality paperwork accurately.
Identify and troubleshoot machining or production issues, escalating where necessary.
Maintain machines, tooling, and work areas to a high standard.
Follow all health, safety, and quality procedures, reporting any hazards or non-conformances.
Work closely with colleagues and other departments to meet production targets and customer requirements.
Support and share knowledge with less experienced team members where required.
Skills & Qualifications
Vocational training, apprenticeship, or equivalent practical experience in CNC machining.
Essential: Proven experience operating and setting 5-axis CNC machining centres.
Desirable: Experience with Mazak 5-axis machining centres and Mazatrol controls.
Comfortable carrying out in-process inspection and completing associated quality documentation.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and measurement data.
Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
Experience using measuring equipment and quality control processes.
Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Positive attitude, reliability, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
