Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY: Operates CNC machines in compliance with departmental procedures. The machine operator must be capable of basic operation of CNC lathe machines and automatic bar-feeders. The operator must be able to read Blueprints and perform consistent visual inspection underneath the microscope and must be capable to perform continuous inspection on various visual inspection equipment. They must also be able to change worn out or broken tools from the machines when needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Performs routine operation of assigned machine(s), including start-up and shutdown. Loads raw material into bar feeder and adjusts to machine.
  • Keeps machine running throughout shift, while monitoring product quality through regular inspection intervals.
  • Perform consistent visuals underneath the microscope and perform continuous inspection on their machines on various inspection equipment.
  • Troubleshoots and corrects minor problems, obtaining assistance from lead machinists and / or Management when needed. Replaces assigned tooling as needed, i.e. drills, taps, etc.
  • Support team environment including any cell manufacturing tasks that are needed (i.e. cleaning of product).
  • Ensures that all documentation is in order (part number, revision, etc) and is kept at the workstation. Enters data on production documents regarding quantity produced, hours worked, etc.
  • Performs general housekeeping in work areas (cleaning work surfaces, mopping, etc).

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or GED preferred. College level machining classes and/or formal CNC training a plus. 

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Familiarity with raw materials, cutting tool geometry, and related feeds and speeds. Must have knowledge of precision inspection equipment and methods (micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, etc.). 

Target Market Salary Range:

Actual compensation packages take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location; skill sets; relevant education and certifications; depth of experience; performance; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed reasonable estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Envista, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The total compensation package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, medical/dental/vision benefits, 401K match, and/or other applicable compensation plans.

$19.90 - $27.00 per hour
