Why this is an exciting opportunity

We're looking for a Cloud Systems Engineer to join our growing Cloud Engineering team. This role is ideal for an infrastructure engineer who is passionate about Infrastructure as Code, cloud automation and modern platform engineering, with strong hands-on experience in Terraform and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
In this role, you will help design, build and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure that supports HUB24's AI initiatives, enterprise platforms and business-critical services.
This is a highly technical role where you'll work across cloud engineering, automation and platform operations, with a strong focus on Terraform-driven infrastructure deployment and management within GCP environments.

What you’ll be doing

You will:

• Design, deploy and maintain cloud infrastructure across GCP, AWS and VMware environments, with a primary focus on Google Cloud Platform

• Develop, maintain and enhance Terraform modules, ensuring consistent, scalable and secure infrastructure deployments

• Manage Terraform state, environments and infrastructure lifecycle processes

• Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, security, networking and operational teams to deliver reliable and secure cloud solutions

• Implement and support CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure automation

• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and Terraform deployment issues

• Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation, architecture diagrams and operational runbooks

• Participate in incident response and occasional after-hours deployments when required

Experience & Skills

Essential

• Strong commercial experience designing and supporting cloud infrastructure in Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

• Advanced experience with Terraform, including:

  • Reusable module development

  • State management

  • Multi-environment deployments

  • Infrastructure automation pipelines

• Experience with cloud networking, security, identity management and architecture best practices

• Experience using Git-based version control systems such as GitHub or Azure DevOps

• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Bamboo or similar tools

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities

Highly Regarded

• Experience with AWS

• Experience with Ansible or other configuration management tools

• Docker and Kubernetes experience

• Scripting skills in Python, Bash or PowerShell

• Cloud certifications relating to GCP, AWS or Infrastructure as Code
