Position Description:
Seeking an experienced Cloud Systems Administrator to join our SITE III Directorate Operations (DO) team supporting the U.S. Intelligence Community. Your efforts will ensure robust, reliable intelligence collection and dissemination, supporting defense intelligence, combatant commands, partner nations, and federal agencies.
Position Duties:
• Ensure optimal operation of multi-user computer systems, collaborating with network engineers and software developers.
• Manage system resources to enhance CPU and disk efficiency and responsiveness.
• Administer system security, setting up user accounts and profiles, and ensuring compliance with the latest standards.
• Provide comprehensive support, from Tier 1 troubleshooting to Tier 2 problem resolution.
• Optimize system performance, oversee software installations, and manage storage solutions.
• Evaluate new technologies and make recommendations on hardware and software acquisitions.
• Ensure rigorous application of security settings and conduct regular security assessments.
• Manage Unix and Linux environments and be familiar with their configuration.
• Proficient in scripting and setting up systems from scratch, including application installations.
• Knowledgeable in security protocols, able to resolve vulnerabilities and run Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
Required Clearance:
Must possess an active TS/SCI or SCI eligibility and active polygraph or ability to obtain a polygraph. This requires US citizenship.
Required Skills, Education, and Experience:
• Full time work in a SCIF is required, but hours are flexible. Should be available during core business hours. Some mission critical applications would require availability after hours and during weekends should the need arise.
• A Bachelor’s degree in an area applicable to the position with 8+ years of relevant experience OR a Master’s degree in an area applicable to the position with 6 years of relevant experience; an additional 4 years of experience maybe considered in lieu of a degree requirement
• Security+ or other IAT II/III level certification that is currently active (DoD 8570 compliance)
• Linux (CentOS, RHEL, and/or Oracle). This position requires strong Linux skills with current/very recent experience.
• Experience working in an AWS environment and familiarity with console accesses to provision, maintain and monitor servers.
• Performing snapshots, backups, disaster recovery, performance tuning
Installation, STIG hardening, patching
• Excellent troubleshooting skills (including scripting and audit log review) and Tier 1 communication skills
Desired Qualifications:
• Experience developing and maintaining critical documentation (SIPs, SAGs, SUMs, SOPs, Getting started guides)
• Experience with ElasticSearch
• Current polygraph
• Cloud (EC2s, S3, Elasticache), Kafka, Openshift, Docker, Keycloak, Wildfly
• PKI certificates, SSL, service accounts
• Maintaining multiple environment types (physical, virtual, cloud)
• Experience supporting security audits and testing events.
• Experience upgrading from CentOS to RHEL 8 is a nice to have but not a must as long as candidates have strong Linux experience.
