The Opportunity
We are on the hunt for a motivated and technically minded Cloud Operations Engineer to assist in optimising, supporting and maintaining Vix products across production and non-production environments. It will suit someone with Windows and Linux expertise looking to apply their knowledge, with the opportunities to broaden their skillset.
As a Cloud Operations Engineer at Vix Technology, you’ll support and deliver the technology that makes modern public transport possible.
Applicants with Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency located in Melbourne are encouraged to apply - unfortunately eligibility for this position is restricted to the above residency status only. Vix encourages in person collaboration, with a hybrid working pattern that includes 3 days in-office.
What will you be responsible for?
- Technical support around the daily operation, maintenance and security of production and non-production environments according to ITSM policies
- Deploying solutions on the AWS platform and solving problems
- Advising and supporting the Engineering team as part of a DevSecOps culture to ensure operational excellence
- Creating and supporting CI/CD pipelines
- Curating the internal knowledge base to deliver operational accuracy and repeatability
What does our ideal candidate look like?
- Demonstrated experience in AWS cloud-native configuration and support
- Familiarity with Active Directory, DNS, and networking concepts
- Practical experience with a scripting language such as powershell or python. Any understanding of development languages such as C#, Java is a bonus
- Able to apply creative thinking skills, thrives in an agile environment, with practical knowledge of DevSecOps principles.
- Experience with cloudformation, cdk or terraform
- Experience with system monitoring and remediation, use of observability tools such as Splunk/Cloudwatch
- Understands best security practices, ITSM Frameworks and has a customer service mentality
