About your role
As a Cloud Engineer, you will design and implement scalable cloud solutions to ensure platform performance and availability. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to innovate, optimize architectures, and provide technical support across multiple projects. Your responsibilities include managing cloud environments, deploying infrastructure, automating workflows, and ensuring stability using DevOps practices. You’ll also support troubleshooting and monitoring with tools like Grafana and DataDog. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver who can manage multiple projects, adapt to change, and be available for critical issues.
Outcomes
- Coordinate and collaborate with engineering and key teams to support cloud initiatives.
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable cloud architectures using AWS.
- Manage databases (MySQL, RedShift, PostgreSQL) and ensure their efficient integration with cloud services.
- Use and administer GitHub for version control.
- Implement and maintain microservices and application containerization.
- Optimize resource allocation to ensure high availability and performance.
- Provide documentation and communicate with stakeholders in fluent English.
Technical Requirements:
- Advanced knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS.
- Strong DevOps experience with a focus on platform development and operations.
- Proficiency in scripting across multiple programming languages.
- Expertise in cloud governance and Well-Architected Framework.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools like Grafana and DataDog.
- Extensive experience with AWS cloud services and microservices architecture.
- Experience with IaC methodologies and tools like Pulumi or Terraform.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts in cloud environments.
- Experience in deploying and managing web servers like Apache or Nginx in the cloud.
- Experience working with and building production-ready REST APIs.
- Intermediate to advanced experience in optimizing and building scalable web services.
- Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker.
- Strong knowledge of version control systems like Git (GitHub).
Day to day
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design scalable and highly available cloud architectures.
- Define the walkthrough and toolsets for all engineering teams; as well as the way they need to incorporate them into their day-to-day activities.
- Implementing and managing cloud infrastructure resources (virtual machines, storage, networking, security groups).
- Maintaining automated deployment pipelines (Github actions, AWS CodePipeline).
- Monitoring and optimizing cloud infrastructure performance.
- Troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure-related issues.
- Maintaining infrastructure provisioning and management with IaC tools (Pulumi, AWS CloudFormation).
- Assisting development teams with application deployment and configuration in the cloud.
- Monitoring cloud costs (FinOps) and optimizing resource usage.
- Documenting infrastructure configurations, deployment processes, and troubleshooting guides.
Nice to have:
- Relevant certifications in cloud technologies
- Knowledge of Scrum/Kanban Agile methodologies.
- Experience working with Atlassian tools like Jira, Confluence and OpsGenie.
