Cloud Engineer - China

At SCOR we invest heavily in cloud native technologies. As a Cloud Engineer you are responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining our China multi-cloud platform that facilitates infrastructure provisioning and deployment of our solutions. We need an engineer capable of designing and writing terraform modules to deploy resources on multiple China Clouds. You will become part of a global team of cloud engineers that strives to be on the cutting edge of cloud innovations. 

Key duties and responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy, and maintain modular cloud-based systems using cloud native technologies such as Kubernetes

• Implement optimal cloud solutions for the platform to fulfill requirements set by the PO (architecture, storage & compute services, cost monitoring and optimization, role management) 

• Identify, analyze, and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues 

• Audit cloud infrastructure and make continuous recommendations for improvements

• Collaborating with engineering and development teams to evaluate and identify improvements/extensions needed for our multi-cloud platform

• Maintain a good working relationship with the colleagues in our multi-national team and global stakeholders

• Keep organized on tools such as Confluence to ensure business continuity.

• Receive, process and document feedback from stakeholders and development teams to continuously improve our infrastructure.

Professional Experience

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role with major cloud platforms (Aliyun, Ali Financial Cloud, Azure, etc.).

• Hands-on experience with Alibaba Cloud (Aliyun) and/or Alibaba Financial Cloud in production environments.

• Strong knowledge of cloud-native development, CNCF technologies, and open-source ecosystems.

• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized environments.

• Expertise in Kubernetes deployment, networking, storage, security, high availability, and multi-tenancy.

• Experience managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes clusters, including Data Science workloads.

• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and cloud-native design patterns.

• Experience integrating and managing services across multiple cloud platforms.

• Deep understanding of cloud security principles, including HTTPS, certificate management, OAuth2, credential management, and compliance requirements.

• Solid knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and experience integrating IaC solutions into engineering environments.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and AI-assisted coding tools while ensuring code quality, validation, and optimization.

• Strong analytical and risk assessment skills with experience working in Agile/Scrum environments to deliver quality solutions on time.

• Strong hands-on experience designing, developing and maintaining reusable Terraform modules for cloud infrastructure provisioning.

• Experience operating Kubernetes clusters supporting Data Science, AI or Machine Learning workloads.
