The Leidos Hosting Services Cloud team, within the Chief Information Office under the Digital Modernization Sector, is seeking a Senior Cloud DevOps Administrator to lead the design, automation, and optimization of enterprise-scale Azure operations. This role requires advanced technical expertise in Azure administration, Infrastructure-as-Code, and automation pipelines, with the ability to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable solutions across multi-cloud environments. In this role you will own key projects, mentor junior staff, and serve as a technical authority for Azure best practices, while also supporting AWS resources as needed.
Location: This position allows for full-time telework from any U.S. based location.

Primary Responsibilities
Azure Cloud Administration – Manage and optimize Azure resources (compute, storage, networking, identity, monitoring, and governance). Implement Azure Policies, RBAC, and cost optimization strategies.
Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) – Design, build, and maintain Terraform modules and automation pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitLab/GitHub CI/CD) to enforce consistency and reduce manual work.
Automation & Configuration Management – Implement automation with Ansible, Cloud Custodian, and scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash) to streamline provisioning, patching, and compliance.
System Reliability & Security – Oversee system performance tuning, vulnerability remediation, backup/recovery solutions, and logging/monitoring with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Security Center.
Cross-Platform Support – Perform advanced troubleshooting and integration tasks across Linux and Windows servers to maintain healthy, secure systems.
Solution Design & Delivery – Partner with Cloud Engineers and Architects to design solutions that align with business and security requirements. Provide recommendations on optimization, modernization, and automation strategies.
Leadership & Mentorship – Provide technical guidance to peers and junior administrators. Lead workstreams, coach team members, and promote best practices.
Documentation & Continuous Improvement – Develop and maintain technical documentation, identify operational gaps, and implement process improvements to increase delivery velocity and service quality.
Agile Delivery – Contribute to Agile ceremonies (standups, sprint planning, retrospectives) and drive technical excellence in sprint commitments.
Basic Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field and 8–12 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 6–10 years of relevant experience. Equivalent relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
Expert-level hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (compute, networking, storage, governance, identity, and monitoring).
Strong knowledge of Terraform, Ansible, Cloud Custodian, or similar tools.
Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, Go, or Bash.
Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions).
Solid understanding of system administration concepts (patching, performance monitoring, log review) for Linux and/or Windows.
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and performance-tuning skills across cloud and hybrid environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) or Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305).
Demonstrated leadership in delivering large-scale cloud migration, modernization, or automation projects.
Familiarity with AWS administration to support hybrid/multi-cloud environments.
Knowledge of ITIL practices, enterprise monitoring tools, and cloud security frameworks (NIST, CIS, Zero Trust).
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence technical decisions and mentor less experienced staff.
