Position Summary:

Senior Manager, Software Engineering for the Helix Core at Perforce is searching for a Senior Devops Engineer to join the team. We are looking for an individual who is experienced with the development of modern cloud applications, preferably on Azure/AWS platforms with proficiency in full-stack application development using Golang, Nodejs, React and related technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality software solutions.

Helix Core is the best version control software (VCS) for world-class development at scale. It securely versions all digital content - even large files - in a single repository. And it scales for large teams, handles 1000s of daily transactions, and delivers files quickly to remote users (even if they're using Git).

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain software applications.
• Utilize GitHub for version control, branching, and merging to enable efficient collaboration with team members.
• Design and develop distributed systems, ensuring fault tolerance, scalability, and performance.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using Go, Nodejs and React with knowledge of Terraform for deployment.
• Conduct thorough code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.
• Identify and troubleshoot software defects and performance bottlenecks. Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends and apply them to improve software development processes and outcomes.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development methodologies and practices within the team

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least 7+ years' experience in developing and managing software applications in a production environment.
• Extensive experience with Git, including branching, merging, and conflict resolution.
• Solid understanding of modern cloud applications and concepts, such as fault tolerance, scalability, and consistency.
• Knowledge of Agile software development best practices, including code reviews, unit testing, and documentation in a collaborative and distributed team environment.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly understand and address complex technical challenges.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively work within a cross-functional team across time zones and on-call support.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Cloud Platform Developer with Programming skills in Python/Ruby and experience developing platforms for cloud orchestration
• Strong programming and problem solving background and has worked hands-on in application development
• Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting within a production environment, including expertise in monitoring, logging, alerting, diagnosing, and resolving issues for a 24/7 uptime SLA matrix application deployed on a public cloud.
• Must-have - experience with some cloud provider, AWS, Azure and GCP and their APIs, automation and configuration management. Highly desirable to have a cloud developer/solutions architect certification from a major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Experience with API development and integration, familiarity with API specifications and standards
• Experience with creating modern containerized applications preferably in an Azure cloud environment
• Bonus/nice to have - Knowledge of Terraform, and building Terraform providers, coding experience with Terraform
• Bonus/nice to have – knowledge and experience working with GoLang
