Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a full-time Clinical Dietician with our Food Service Department.
Under the direction of the Clinical Nutrition Supervisor of Food Service, this position is responsible for providing Medical Nutrition Therapy for the patients in Cabell Huntington Hospital. Duties include completing the nutrition assessment with nutrition focused physical exam, documenting malnutrition diagnosis, placing nasoduodenal tubes when consulted, communicating with other members of the interdisciplinary team, monitoring tolerance to nutrition therapy, and providing education to patients and caregivers when appropriate. The Clinical Dietitian will maintain nutrition documentation in the patient’s medical record. In addition, this position will participate in regular rounding on assigned units, serve on quality improvement committees as needed, and mentor clinical interns. This position requires a weekend rotation based on staffing levels.

- Master's degree is required
*Beginning January 1, 2024 a Master’s Degree is the minimum degree requirement for those seeking eligibility for the registration examination for dietitians. Those who received registration status prior to 2024 are grandfathered in under prior regulations.
- Registered Dietitian is required
- Member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is required
- Licensed Dietitian by the State of West Virginia is required
- Food handling certificate recognized by the Cabell County Health Department upon employment and updated as required by county mandate is required
RDE (Registered Dietitian Eligible) eligible candidates may be hired if they have an active provisional license from the West Virginia Board of Licensed Dietitians. RDE applicants must pass their board exam within six months of hire.
