The Role
In Workplace Investing, the Client Team Manager’s primary responsibility is providing day-to-day management of a team of associates that perform Defined Benefit administration services to Fidelity Defined Benefit clients. The Client Team Manager will also have overall responsibility for the client relationships on a book of clients as a representative of and the Defined Benefit Mid-Market service delivery team.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
7 + years in the Defined Benefit industry with 1 + year(s) of associate and client management experience
Excellent coaching and leadership skills required
Client consulting and leadership skills
Demonstrate leadership ability with self-motivation and determination
Project management and influence skills
Strong team and client management skills
A deep understanding of Defined Benefit processes and tools.
You must be technically inclined with application experience and proficiency (e.g., Excel, Word, Access, etc.)
Strong project management skills and the ability to balance/prioritize multiple projects and an understanding of risk and time management
You have an ability work within budgeted timeframes to maintain client profitability without sacrificing quality
The Value You Deliver
Serve as primary point of contact for clients for Defined Benefit administration. Prepare and participant in regular client service reviews and/or business planning meetings
Lead associates on your team in the capacity of workload, quality, and timeliness. Provide timely feedback on performance in order for associates to lead their daily tasks/deliverables, progress on their development and address any outstanding performance issues. Develop effective performance measures and work with the associates on goals and initiatives that will improve both the organization and the associates’ career development. Prepare annual performance and bonus reviews for associates
Act as a technical resource and Defined Benefit professional for your associates, and lead by example for work ethic, professional conduct and nurture an atmosphere of continuous improvement
Work closely with senior management to meet business objectives and priorities. Serve as a leader and run projects and/or initiatives for business unit
Work with our most sophisticated client base which includes: plan complexity, higher numbers of plans, participants, transaction volume, and special projects. Provide fee estimate quotes on special projects requested by the client and lead those projects according to budget and timelines
Identify and communicate successful and efficient practices used for own client(s) that may be brought to bear across other clients and instituted as the defined benefit standard methodology
Play key role in new business activities including client meetings, proposal writing, final presentations, etc.
Draft and complete contracts for special projects and accountable for client financials

The Team
This role will reside within Workplace Investing Defined Benefit Operations organization. You will be responsible for handling and leading all aspects of the day to day delivery of Defined Benefit client servicing, business reporting, contractual obligations, and internal scale & efficiency initiatives. You will support DB’s interests in collaborating with the cross product/functional SME’s, Center of Excellence and other lines of business. You will work to solve problems and be empowered to make decisions based on trends, issues, and business drivers.
Certifications:Category:Client Service OperationsMost roles at Fidelity are Hybrid, requiring associates to work onsite every other week (all business days, M-F) in a Fidelity office. This does not apply to Remote or fully Onsite roles.
