About the Team
OpenAI’s Sales team partners with advertisers to understand their businesses, develop meaningful advertising solutions, and drive long-term growth on the platform while maintaining strong standards for user trust and platform integrity.

About the Role
This role will focus on growing advertising revenue across the Financial Services vertical, including banks, credit card issuers, insurance providers, investment and wealth management firms, lending platforms, fintech companies, and adjacent financial services brands.
You will own the full sales cycle—from prospecting through deal closure—and build strategic relationships with senior financial services decision-makers. You’ll help advertisers reach high-intent audiences, improve campaign performance, and develop long-term commercial partnerships that support their business goals.

You will work closely with Account Managers and cross-functional partners to ensure successful advertiser outcomes after the sale, while maintaining primary ownership of revenue growth, commercial strategy, and Financial Services vertical expertise.

In this role, you will:

  • Prospect, qualify, and close new advertising opportunities across the Financial Services vertical.

  • Own and achieve a defined revenue target across an assigned portfolio of financial services advertisers.

  • Build relationships with senior advertising, marketing, digital acquisition, product, and business leaders.

  • Develop account plans that connect advertiser goals—such as account openings, credit card applications, insurance quotes, qualified leads, app adoption, and customer retention—to measurable campaign outcomes.

  • Identify opportunities across major financial services moments, including product launches, tax season, annual enrollment periods, and shifts in consumer financial needs.

  • Structure and negotiate complex commercial agreements.

  • Build clear, data-driven business cases that demonstrate advertiser ROI and long-term platform value.

  • Partner with Account Managers to support seamless post-sale transitions, campaign success, renewals, and expansion.

  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Policy, and Operations to support complex deals and inform future advertising solutions.

  • Partner with advertisers and internal teams to navigate industry-specific advertising, privacy, and compliance requirements.

  • Maintain strong pipeline management, accurate forecasting, and a deep understanding of Financial Services industry trends.

You might thrive in this role if you:

  • Have 10+ years of experience in digital advertising, performance marketing, client strategy, consulting, or enterprise sales.

  • Have experience working with Financial Services advertisers, such as banks, credit card issuers, insurance providers, investment and wealth management firms, lending platforms, or fintech companies.

  • Have 3+ years of experience advising and influencing senior executives and client stakeholders.

  • Have a proven track record of owning revenue targets and closing complex advertising or commercial deals.

  • Understand financial services customer journeys, acquisition funnels, customer lifetime value, and performance metrics.

  • Have experience navigating the advertising, privacy, and compliance considerations of a regulated industry.

  • Can create compelling business cases and translate advertiser objectives into measurable partnership strategies.

  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Can operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-changing environments.

  • Are excited to help shape a new advertising platform while maintaining high standards for user experience, trust, and responsible growth.
