Job Description

  • Serve as the first point of contact for clients, providing prompt and professional service during the onboarding of new clients as well as lifelong relationship management and retention.
  • Work a somewhat complex book of business with higher life counts and exposure into varying account types: fully-insured, level-funded, self-insured, etc.
  • Manage the placement of new and renewal accounts with carrier partners across Life & Health Insurance lines and products.
  • Act as expert employer resource.
  • Understand account strategy and work to develop proposals, formal presentations and obtain client confirmation on selected plans/products.
  • Review contracts for accuracy and work with carriers to make necessary corrections.
  • Assist with gathering underwriting information and preparing submission materials.
  • Maintain strong carrier relationships to secure competitive quotes and solutions for clients.
  • Ensure the successful renewal and retention of accounts through proactive service and relationship management.
  • Manage annual benefit renewal activities including pricing of benefits programs, coordinating pre-renewal presentation and the renewal action timeline.
  • Coordinate and present at annual open enrollment meetings.
  • Process enrollment changes for clients.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the Salesforce/Benefit Point agency management system.
  • Collaborate with Producers, Client Managers, Client Executives and other internal stakeholders to support client needs.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of experience in insurance, customer service, or a related field preferred.
  • Intermediate understanding of Life & Health insurance concepts.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or similar agency management systems is a plus.
  • Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Active Life & Health licenses required; advanced certifications (e.g., CEBS, RHU, REBC) strongly preferred.
