The Client Executive, Public Sector, Labor & Trust is responsible for the new business development and management of a book of Optum Strategic Accounts in the Public Sector segment including Labor & Trust Clients. The Client Executive, Public Sector is accountable for the acquisition of new business, the growth, retention and increased profitability of large and complex existing business, and the strategic direction of assigned accounts. Direct strategic, customer specific initiatives, which deliver value added services through the execution of client specific business plans.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop new business through marketing and effective product and service expansion
- Expand our account penetration for existing customers by working in partnership with UnitedHealthcare sales and account management in the Public Sector, Labor & Trust market segment
- Coordinate and influence superior customer service delivery by developing and maintaining solid intercompany relationships
- Develop and monitor client financial performance including renewal planning, negotiation and profitability levels
- Establish and maintain solid and appropriate level relationships with customers and consultants; ensure UnitedHealth Group senior management has customer specific board level contacts
- Demonstrate marketing and technical expertise through: Client, broker and consultant meetings
- Assess approach, resources, and contacts needed to complete RFP's
- Preparation for and participation in new business site visits
- Provide feedback to management on market trends as represented by our clients
- Maintain a high level of healthcare industry knowledge as well as customer's industry

Required Qualifications:
- Sales insurance license must be maintained as required by state law
- 8+ years of experience in healthcare sales / account management experience
- 5+ years of experience handling complex and difficult accounts
- 5+ years of experience working with the Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- 5+ years of experience working in partnership with claims, marketing and managed care systems, including HMOs, gatekeeper plans, PPO's, and managed indemnity plans, and other industry payers
- Experience analyzing sales data and translating into actionable insights for key stakeholders and clients
- Experience with Public Sector & Labor procurement processes, solid solution sales skills and ability to present complex solutions to prospects, brokers & consultants and constituent stakeholders
- Experience driving Public Sector/Labor & Trust RFPs and finalist presentations
- Valid driver's license
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time
Preferred Qualifications:
- Sales & account management experience with UnitedHealthcare
- Sales or account management experience with Public Sector and/or Labor & Trust accounts
- Health, wellness, financial services and behavioral health product experience
- Strategic management of fully insured and self-funded customers, and experience with brokers & consultants

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $75,000 - $160,000 annually based on full-time employment. This role is also eligible to receive bonuses based on sales performance. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
