An elite, global organization operating across more than 50 locations worldwide is looking for a highly articulate, service-oriented Senior Client Accountant to step away from traditional, single-entity corporate accounting and join their specialized financial services division. This is a permanent, full-time role based in office with some flexibility. Working hours are 08:00 to 17:00 Monday to Thursday and 08:00 to 15:00 on Fridays.
The company specializes in acting as the local administrative, financial, and fiduciary anchor for foreign companies establishing operations in South Africa. They bridge the gap for international brands, running their entire back-office infrastructure with absolute precision.
This position handles the full accounting, reporting, and compliance lifecycle for a dedicated portfolio of 5 to 7 premium international clients, working directly with their South African branches or subsidiaries on behalf of their overseas headquarters.
Reporting directly to the Accounting Team Leader, you will manage complex multi-entity reporting frameworks, drive full-function bookkeeping to balance sheet, and maintain exceptional relationships with international corporate stakeholders.
Key Operational Responsibilities:
- Portfolio Ownership: Autonomously run the full financial engine for a dedicated portfolio of 5 to 7 international clients, shifting seamlessly between different multi-entity systems and timelines.
- Full-Function Cloud Bookkeeping: Maintain the books up to balance sheet level exclusively on Xero, Microsoft Dynamics 365, or alternative cloud packages. This includes month-end currency revaluations, fixed assets, depreciation, accruals, prepayments, and provisions.
- Client Relationship Management: Act as the primary, service-driven touchpoint for overseas headquarters, proactively requesting information, managing expectations, and resolving financial queries with absolute professionalism.
- Reconciliations & Reporting: Prepare pristine monthly balance sheet reconciliations, intricate intercompany accounts, and monthly client management accounts within strict global deadlines.
- Tax & Audit Readiness: Compute VAT submissions in line with internal protocols, support the internal Tax Department with statutory filings, and coordinate the smooth execution of annual client audits.
- Team Collaboration: Assist with weekly/monthly client payment preparation pipelines and delegate operational support tasks cleanly to allocated administrative staff.
Requirements
- Tertiary Education: A completed BCom Degree or equivalent tertiary accounting qualification is essential. A recognized accounting professional body accreditation is a strong plus.
- Multi-Client Experience: A proven track record working within a multi-client accounting practice, shared-services, or audit firm background. You must possess the mental agility to switch between different entities smoothly.
- Service-Oriented Mindset: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. You must be highly client-facing, service-driven, and entirely comfortable managing international corporate stakeholders.
- Systems Mastery: Deep hands-on experience utilizing Xero. Exposure to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar cloud ERP ecosystems is highly advantageous.
- Technical Depth: Solid practical experience with South African VAT computations, multi-currency revaluations, and intercompany reporting rules.
