Con Edison, a multibillion-dollar energy utility, is leading the clean energy transition in New York City and Westchester County. We are investing hundreds of millions of dollars annually to integrate distributed resources into our electric and gas systems, support electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and scale adoption of energy efficiency and clean heating technologies across our customers.
Con Edisons Flexible Demand team develops the companys long term grid flexibility strategy and helps craft a vision for how the company will use demand side resources to achieve multiple strategic objectives.
The Flexible Demand Strategy Manager will support the Companys strategy, policy, and regulatory work related to grid flexibility and the NY Grid of the Future proceeding. The Strategy Manager will bring together internal experts and external partners to evolve policies and programs to scale and optimize flexible demand resources. To do so, they will be leading regulatory filings and studies, and design pilots that assess the value, potential, and optimal use cases for flexibility. This is a great role to exercise strategic and analytical thinking, drive results, and demonstrate application of cross disciplinary skills to the clean energy space.

What We Do
We provide power to more than 10 million people and businesses across NYC and Westchester. Reliability and accessibility are central to what we do and how we provide energy service. Leading the industry to power tomorrow is our other focus- we are committed to aggressively transitioning away from fossil fuels to a net-zero economy by 2050. To help achieve this we collaborate with customers, regulators, policymakers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure our clean energy future is informed by principles of affordability, equity, and environmental justice. We’re also heavily investing in new technologies and the infrastructure that can get us there. What are a few things we have achieved so far? • Since 2009, our energy efficiency programs have prevented 11 million metric tons of carbon emissions – the same amount it would take to power 1.4 million homes for a year • We’re currently the second largest producer of solar energy in North America • Recently, we’ve embarked on an 8-year project to make our systems more resilient in the face of extreme weather events
