An entry-level Claims Representative position requiring a learning nature, empathy and interpersonal skills along with a strong desire to assist customers.
We're currently recruiting for a Claims Representative to work within our Commercial Lines-Property Unit.
This position will be staffed through the hybrid work model at our Edwardsville, IL offices.
What You’ll Do
As a Property Claims Representative, you’ll have the chance to establish a solid foundation with Sentry by conducting the following duties:

Verify that coverage exists for our customers

Investigate and gather information about claims by contacting all parties involved

Accurately document all decisions, correspondences, reports and discussions

Gain experience in determining liability and setting reserves
-
Evaluate your investigations to make decisions about the claims
-
Learn about determining if subrogation exists and taking steps necessary for recovery
-
Resolve claims in the best interest of the insured, claimant and Sentry
-
Work with independent adjusters, experts and/or contractors to facilitate necessary services or repair work
What it Takes
-
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience 0-2 years of related insurance or coursework beneficial

Knowledge of insurance policies and coverage, claim payments procedures
-
The desire, ability and interpersonal savvy to handle a fast-paced, high volume work environment
-
Effective oral and written communication and human relation skills
-
Ability to make sound decisions while using good judgment in evaluating claims
-
Effective computer skills
-
Based on experience and qualifications, the pay range for this position is $21-$26/hr.
