As a Senior claims professional you will join this established team to support existing Managing Agents and New Entrants to elevate Claims' status in the Lloyd’s market by ensuring alignment with Lloyd’s Claims Principles and driving claims' contribution to overall performance.

As part of the Lloyd’s claims team, you will play a key part to ensure that managing agents provide a claims service that: meets Lloyd’s expectations, supports syndicate performance and supports a culture of continuous claims improvement. This includes:

  • Making considered and risk-based decisions, ensuring that the right outcomes are achieved through effective oversight and collaboration with the wider Lloyd’s team.

  • Monitor MAs' adherence to the Lloyd’s Claims Principles, promoting a ‘best in class’ approach to Claims management, identifying and addressing potential claims performance risks, proactively intervening and escalating issues

  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with senior management at managing agents, the Corporation, and other key stakeholders

  • Communicate the results of qualitative assessments, fostering open and constructive dialogue

  • Utilize claims management information and data to elevate overall performance

  • Collaborate and provide quality assurance for claims-related reviews and thematic work

To deliver this role effectively you will need to be an excellent collaborator, able to balance strategic thinking with the ability to analyse and evaluate complex data sets to identify critical risk areas.  Using both to influence, negotiate and navigate challenging conversation to foster positive outcomes through claims, legal, regulatory, government and policyholders issues.

You are likely to have worked within a claims, conduct or delegated authority function, at an operational or technical level and combine this with knowledge of relevant legal principles relating to claims in both UK and International markets.

Skills Required

  • Experience working in claims, conduct or delegated authority functions at operational or technical level
  • Knowledge of legal principles relating to claims in UK and international markets
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building with senior management
  • Ability to analyse and evaluate complex claims data sets to identify risk areas
  • Excellent collaboration, negotiation and influencing skills to manage challenging conversations
  • Experience monitoring adherence to claims principles, performing qualitative assessments and escalating issues
  • Strong communication skills to present assessment results and foster constructive dialogue
