As a Claims Legal Paralegal, you will assist the Hagerty Claims Legal team in providing paralegal and administrative support to the Claims team for litigated and non-litigated matters. You will also manage the Claims department’s responses to legal and regulatory inquiries.

What you’ll do:
- Review and timely distribute legal documents related to claims that are served on the Company
- Assist with responding to consumer complaints and inquiries from regulatory authorities
- Review and redact documents to be produced in litigation or in response to regulatory inquiries
- Assist with reporting and data maintenance
- Organize legal research
- Archive documents in multiple online systems
- Prepare and complete intake forms to establish new litigation files
- Open and close files in online systems
- Track, monitor and provide reporting on corporate representative and fact witness depositions
- Prepare and maintain process documents for the Claims Legal team
- Assist with discovery responses and preparation of Company witnesses
- Manage the Company’s subpoena response process
- Manage the Company’s service of process procedures
- Perform administrative tasks in support of Claims Legal team, such as scheduling, document preparation, meeting facilitation, and travel coordination
This might describe you:
- Paralegal certificate
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
- Notary Public
- Experience with insurance defense or insurance related litigation
- Understanding of proper service of process and experience with tort and breach of contract litigation is required. Experience with insurance-related litigation is preferred.
- Strong organization skills
- Proficient in Microsoft 365
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to meet set deadlines
- Able to prioritize multiple tasks with good time management skills
- Able to work accurately and effectively in a highly confidential, detail- and results-oriented environment.
- Able to work independently with minimal direction while functioning well in a team environment
- Able to communicate effectively with members of other departments, to support their functions as well as to assist them in supporting the Claims Legal team
- Excellent judgment (common sense) and business instincts.
- Ability to collaborate with employees at all levels across the enterprise and in team settings.
- Self-managed, self-motivated, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team on assigned tasks.

- Experience in interfacing with executive teams, business management and external law firms.
- Critical thinking skills and strategic thinking skills – able to identify manage common themes and big-picture items; able to identify and develop multiple outcomes and piece together the impact of issues to the whole enterprise
