The Claims Consultant is considered an expert in managing insurance claims on an individual and portfolio level for our clients. The Claims Consultant must have technical knowledge and experience in insurance claims handling and risk mitigation techniques. The ability to develop relationships and effectively communicate with a diverse range of clients, carriers and colleagues is a key success factor in this role. Strategic vision coupled with tactical execution of risk mitigation plans that drive favorable client Cost of Risk results is also critical to the overall success of this position.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Process submissions within the claims process lifecycle for agencies and insureds assigning to the appropriate claim’s firm.
Respond to requests from agencies and insureds for help in understanding a specific claim. Handle requests from claims adjusters for assistance in gathering additional data or documentation around a specific claim.
Work with adjusters, policyholders and other parties to close and mitigate current losses and prevent future losses.
Review and interpret adjuster reports and provide necessary information to various parties upon inquiry.
Interpret policy coverages and be able to explain basic policy provisions
Supports advisors in securing new business, by performing a baseline risk assessment that will identify opportunities in a prospect’s claims management program
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Possess strong knowledge of property and casualty insurance contracts to include HO3, HO4, HO5 HO6 and master policy programs.
Ability to drive a claim from first intake through the process to satisfactory submission of the first notice of loss.
Outstanding knowledge and ability to use MS Office Word and Excel in the execution of their daily duties.
Possess the aptitude to learn new systems, programs, and technology driven business tools.
Ability to work independently and prioritize assignments.
Strong communication skill with unflappable professional demeanor under pressure. Display impeccable patients
Demonstrate firm’s core values, exuding behavior that is aligned with corporate culture.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 5 years experience within a client/customer facing or support role in the insurance industry preferred.
5+ years' experience in claims
Be willing to obtain any state required License within a specified time frame from starting employment with the firm.
