Claims Consultant - Commercial Lines

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

The Claims Consultant supports clients through a range of internal and external resources to ensure a smooth, responsive, and effective commercial claims administration experience. The individual in this role serves as a knowledgeable point of contact for commercial claims activity, partners closely with Producers and Account Managers, and helps coordinate communication and documentation between clients, carriers, and service partners.

A GLIMPSE INTO YOUR DAY

• Manages incoming calls and inquiries related to commercial lines of business, providing timely, accurate, and professional responses.

• Completes and processes claims-related documentation in a timely and compliant manner.

• Works directly with Producers and Account Managers to provide necessary claim details, updates, and supporting information.

• Acts as an advocate for client coverage interests throughout the claims management process.

• Coordinates communication between clients and carriers to facilitate efficient claim handling and resolution.

• Reviews claim activity and documentation to identify issues, gaps, or follow-up needs and escalates as appropriate.

• Explores risk control or loss mitigation opportunities through coordination with external vendors or internal resources, as applicable.

• Provides input and recommendations related to departmental processes, workflows, or service delivery improvements.

• Maintains accurate, organized, and up‑to‑date claim files and records in applicable systems.

• Effectively utilizes available technology and tools, including emerging and AI‑enabled solutions, to support efficient workflows, accuracy, and a positive client service experience.

• Special projects and other duties as assigned.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE IN THIS ROLE

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• 5 years of experience in property and casualty claims processing.

• Strong knowledge of commercial claims administration processes and terminology.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a client‑focused approach.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to build effective working relationships with clients, carriers, Producers, and internal teams.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to learn new systems and software applications.  

• Commitment to confidentiality and professional standards.
