Claims Associate
$16.66 / hour
Job Level: Individual Contributor
What You Will Be Doing:
Take first notice of loss or is assigned loss reports, perform duties associated with settling high-frequency, low-severity claims, focusing on prompt investigation and rapid disposition. Specialize in settling routine claims quickly and cost-effectively, settling claims within prescribed limits of authority, while maintaining a low volume of pending files. Damages are usually determined based on appraisals or estimates. Handle claims by phone, mail, and technology available. Perform claims investigations with assistance of claims processing software.
Due to the duties and responsibilities of this position, Credit Reports are ordered on final candidates

- Superior skills in negotiation and customer service, written and verbal communication
- Ability to learn through on-the-job training/training courses
- Strong skills in technology
- Knowledge of automotive repair
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without a reasonable accommodation

Shelter maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in geographic location, education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands. Please remember that this is the minimum starting base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position.
