The Claims Assistant supports the company’s risk management processes through administrative tasks, data entry, and claim coordination.

  • Investigate terminal incidents on-site as needed.
  • Process incoming mail and incident reports; convert reports into claims in the claims system. 
  • Review documentation for completeness and follow up with stakeholders for missing information. 
  • Assist with claim investigations by gathering statements, photos, and supporting documents. 
  • Coordinate with Accounting for vendor setup and payment verification; process invoices and reimbursements accurately.
  • Support subrogation efforts and prepare related correspondence. 
  • Maintain organized digital claim files and ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards. 
  • Prepare routine status reports and update dashboards to track claim progress.
  • Schedule appointments and draft routine correspondence for claims-related activities. 
  • Monitor deadlines and send reminders for critical milestones. 
  • Respond to inquiries from claimants, vendors, and internal teams, escalating complex issues as needed. 
  • Compile documentation for litigation or subrogation and assist with special

Preferred Qualifications
  • 2-4 years of detailed administrative experience is required. 
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft applications, with a high degree of proficiency.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks requiring strong organizational skills and accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion with sensitive information. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. You must be able to communicate in a professional manner with co-workers, management, clients, insurers, contractors and various other parties involved in the insurance claim process.
  • Problem solving, the ability to identify and resolve issues promptly and effectively.

Pay Range

$18.10 - 27.14 per hour

Compensation & BenefitsEligible employees (and their families) may qualify for medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as having basic life and accidental death insurance, paid disability insurance, including paid parental leave if eligible, and an Employee Assistance Program. Employees will receive paid sick and vacation time, and company holidays if eligible. The company also offers paid bereavement leave, and paid jury duty.
