As the Claims Analyst you will support the Claims Manager in managing the Company’s claim program, guiding the process from notice of loss to final settlement. Playing a pivotal role in ensuring insurers are notified correctly and creating plans to resolve the claims through collaboration with internal customers, brokers and insurers. Additionally, as the Claims Analyst you will deliver valuable insights by analyzing claims data to inform the business practices and trend analysis.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates the setup of new claims by identifying applicable insurance policies and coverage
  • Prepares Notices of Loss and ensures claims are reported to the appropriate insurers under relevant policies, including Auto, Property, Contractor Equipment, Liability, and Builders Risk
  • Conducts thorough investigations of self-insured claims by reviewing and analyzing legal precedent, applicable legislation, contractual agreements, and policy provisions
  • Serves as a primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, providing guidance and support on general claims inquiries, including Clients, Third-Party Adjusters, Brokers, and internal staff
  • Independently engages key stakeholders, facilitates claim review meetings, and provides strategic guidance to the business on claims management best practices
  • Manages the claims intake and notification process within the Risk Management Information System (RMIS), collaborating with stakeholders to develop strategies that drive timely claim resolution and file closure
  • Identifies opportunities to improve claims intake processes and implements recommendations to enhance efficiency and ensure seamless file progression
  • Analyzes claims data to provide insights into the Company's insurable losses through regular reporting and develops clear, actionable claim resolution strategies
  • Leads monthly internal claims review meetings with business units (e.g., LTS and Highways) to monitor claim performance, discuss complex files, and drive resolution strategies

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 years practical and relevant experience
  • Considerable and in-depth industry knowledge combined with practical experience in the principles, practices and procedures used in claims investigation and management
  • Experience in working with cross-functional teams to resolve insurance claims
  • Experience managing liability Claims would be an asset
  • Experience in RMIS systems and adapting to new technologies
  • Excellent verbal, written and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritize work
  • Ability to solve complex problems and taking on a new perspective using existing solutions
  • Acts as a resource for other team members

Working Conditions:

  • Hybrid role, attending the office 1 day per week and flexible to additionally attend the office as business needs require

Compensation

$76,400.00 - $105,050.00

This is the expected base pay range for this role. Individual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors including experience, knowledge, skills, education and location.
