Job DescriptionJob Purpose:
The main responsibility of the new team member will be to ensure the timely and accurate processing of claims settlements, as well as providing legal advice and support to other organizational units.
Key Responsibilities:
- Activities related to the prevention and mitigation of losses (decisions on recovery, rescheduling, etc.).
- Analysis of documentation related to claims and preparation of coverage decisions (within the scope of authority).
- Handling complaints and managing the appeals process in accordance with internal guidelines.
- Preparing proposals for competent authorities in cases of insufficient authorization.
- Timely preparation of insurance benefit payments.
- Forwarding documents and instructions to the recovery officer for appropriate (extra)judicial recovery, ensuring proper progress of recovery and recourse proceedings.
- Preparing complex legal opinions for the Company’s needs, drafting and reviewing acts and contracts.
- Monitoring local and sector-specific legislation as well as case law and implementing changes into business operations.
- Managing the recovery of the Company’s receivables.
- Communicating with policyholders, attorneys, and intermediaries.
- Preparing reports in accordance with Group rules and ensuring compliance with regulations and procedures established by the Branch, the Group, and external regulators.
Level and Type of Education and Work Experience
- (17002) University degree (previous system),
- (17003) Master’s degree (second Bologna cycle) in law or another relevant field, and at least 2 (two) years of relevant work experience,
or - (16204) University degree (first Bologna cycle),
- (16203) Professional higher education degree (first Bologna cycle) in law or another relevant field, and at least 3 (three) years of relevant work experience.
Language Skills
Knowledge of English and Serbian/Croatian at B1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Other Knowledge and Skills
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office tools.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to collaborate, and customer focus.
- Preferred but not mandatory: passed State Bar Exam.
