About Our Opportunity
As a Claims Accounting Specialist with Valenz’s KISx Card solution, you will play a vital role in managing and reconciling financial transactions related to healthcare claims. You'll work closely with our claim and client teams to ensure payment accuracy, data consistency, and compliance with HIPAA and internal controls. This role combines precision bookkeeping with process optimization in a fast-paced, mission-driven healthcare environment.
Things You’ll Do Here:
  • Maintain and reconcile department-level accounting records in QuickBooks.
  • Track inbound payments from TPAs and employer clients (check, ACH, credit card), and ensure accurate tagging by member, employer group, and claim ID.
  • Generate weekly invoices based on claims activity; ensure all documentation is accurate and auditable.
  • Enter vendor bills and service fees into QuickBooks and manage the payment process through Bill.com.
  • Monitor and document ACH pull authorizations, funding requests, and approvals in systems like Propelr.
  • Coordinate the timely payment of imaging and surgical facilities, maintaining accurate logs of pending and completed payments.
  • Ensure accurate and consistent claim status updates across QuickBooks, Bill.com, and internal systems (KI/KX).
  • Maintain thorough documentation and logs to support audits, internal controls, and HIPAA compliance.
  • Create and deliver weekly and monthly reporting on claim funding status, receivables, and payables.
Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential duties.
What You’ll Bring to the Team
  • 3+ years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting, ideally within a healthcare or claims processing setting.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks and Excel; familiarity with Bill.com or similar tools strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple accounts, vendors, and payment methods with accuracy and composure.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills; ability to maintain documentation integrity.
  • A collaborative mindset, with the ability to improve processes and support cross-functional teams.
A plus if you have:
  • Experience using Propelr, EZClaim, or working in a healthcare services company.
  • Knowledge of surgical and imaging billing processes.
  • Exposure to HIPAA-compliant environments and secure documentation protocols.
