Job Description

ROLE SUMMARY

Responsible for leading the City's overall business performance, driving sustainable growth, profitability, and market leadership through the execution of the City’s commercial priorities. 

The role requires a strong leader who can combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution, influence internal and external stakeholders, build high-performing teams, and champion innovation, including the adoption of AI and automation to improve productivity and performance.

 

WHAT’S ON YOUR PLATE?

  • Develop and execute the City's commercial strategy to achieve topline growth and profitability targets.

  • Own the City's overall commercial performance, including advertising revenue, discount campaigns, preferred partnership programs, and other revenue-generating initiatives.

  • Lead and drive high-priority strategic projects to improve business performance and operational excellence.

  • Monitor market and competitor activities, identify opportunities and risks, and develop appropriate offensive and defensive strategies.

  • Develop and present regular City performance reports and business reviews to management, providing actionable insights, highlighting key risks and opportunities, and recommending initiatives to strengthen performance..

  • Foster strong cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Logistics, and other key stakeholders to deliver City-level priorities and objectives.

  • Manage and strengthen relationships with strategic vendors, leading high-impact negotiations and business reviews.

  • Set team targets, proactively addressing challenges to ensure successful delivery.

  • Build, develop, and retain a high-performing team through effective recruitment, coaching, mentoring, and performance management.

  • Cultivate a strong, inclusive, and performance-driven culture within the City.

  • Partner closely with the Public Relations and Communications teams to represent the City and talabat at industry events, stakeholder engagements, and external forums.

  • Champion the adoption of AI and automation solutions to improve team productivity, streamline processes, and enhance decision-making.

Qualifications

WHAT DID WE ORDER?

  • 8-10+ years in Sales or commercial operations in food delivery, e-commerce, or platform businesses. Ideally, combined with a consulting/strategy background.

  • Minimum 5 years of leadership and team management experience.

  • Proven experience owning and driving P&L outcomes, performance systems, and large-scale cross-functional initiatives.

  • Exceptional planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills—you see around corners and act ahead of the curve.

  • You’re a trusted operator and strategic thought partner, comfortable challenging ideas, aligning stakeholders, and influencing decisions.

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and shifting priorities while maintaining high standards and crisp execution.

  • Strong working knowledge of AI tools, Salesforce, Tableau, and storytelling through data.

  • You grow people by raising the bar, coaching for performance, and giving your team room to lead.

  • Advanced English proficiency (Arabic is a plus).

  • Strong understanding of the food industry and market dynamics.
