Description and Requirements
The CIO is responsible for defining and implementing the IT strategy at the local level, coordinating with business functions to prioritize and implement projects, and ensuring the stability and security of applications supporting business processes. This role involves representing IT to the business, driving the evolution and support of business processes in an agile delivery model, and overseeing governance and risk management of IT services. The application development team reports directly to the CIO. The infrastructure team reports to infrastructure business line, with matrix report to CIO.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent IT to the business and create partnerships to achieve business objectives.
- Drive the evolution, operation, and support of business processes.
- Translate business plans into concrete programs for solution delivery.
- Execute roadmap in alignment with Enterprise agile delivery model practices.
- Oversee governance and risk management of local or outsourced IT services.
- Coordinate with regional IT functions in a matrixed environment.
- Lead software engineering teams and manage project portfolios.
- Ensure compliance with security requirements in application development and management.
- Plan and manage the budget.
- Select vendors for hardware, software, and services.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration with other departments.
- Collaborate with legal, compliance, and risk management teams.
People Management:
- Identify and develop talents
- Ensure effective communication between management and departments.
- Train, coach, manage, develop, and retain staff.
- Set clear objectives and performance metrics.
- Build modern technical and methodological skills contributing to IT ecosystem modernization
Business Experience/Technical Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in IT, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in software application/product development.
- 5+ years of experience in managing solutions delivery teams.
- Proven track record in leadership roles in insurance or financial services.
- Proven project and teams management experience.
- Knowledge of Business Analysis techniques and methodologies.
- Experience in Agile Delivery Methodologies.
- Experience in Artificial Intelligence and automation implementations.
- Understanding of SDLC, Business Analytics, Consumer and Web Applications, and Core Administration Applications.
- Hands-on technical expertise in system development and architecture.
- Strong relationship, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strategic, analytical, and creative mindset.
- Leadership skills.
- Process and systems transformation skills.
- Postgraduate studies are a plus.
